Using Restol on Bangkirai

Bangkirai is great for decking, terraces, fencing and pergolas. The drawback with this kind of wood is that it takes a relatively long time to dry and usually ends up being treated while still damp. We therefore recommend that, after installation, it be left for six months prior to treatment with Restol™ Wood Oil.

During this period too much moisture can evaporate. The wood is probably dry enough for treatment with Restol™ Wood Oil as soon as it starts to look aged.

Bangkirai ages naturally rather quickly. To give optimum protection we recommend that you use a colour with a high pigment content.

Our special Hardwood Brown and Brown colours are ideal for this type of wood as they suppress the ageing process.
